Current Opportunity

This Intermediate Environmental Professional position provides significant opportunities for professional development, growth, and project leadership, supported by a team enthusiastic senior environmental experts and mentors. The position will include both office work and field work, the balance of which will be determined by the candidate’s specific qualifications.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Coordinating and/or managing a variety of environmental assessment and remediation projects across BC, with support from Senior Managers.
  • Liaising and coordinating with clients, regulators, contractors, and other third parties.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing technical reports, cost estimates, proposals, and project schedules.
  • Preparing applications for regulatory approvals, permits, and licenses.
  • Tracking and managing scope, budget, and schedule progress.
  • Coordinating, supervising and mentoring junior staff as needed.
  • Supervising and/or directly conducting environmental fieldwork programs, including:
    • Site investigations / assessments / monitoring
    • Remediation / reclamation oversight
    • Sample collection (soil, vapour, groundwater, surface water, sediment).
    • Recording field data in an accurate, legible, well-organized manner
  • Developing client relationships, pursuing business opportunities, and contributing to our overall success.

The Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in contaminated sites consulting in BC with experience in some or all of the following areas:
    • Stage 1 PSI / Phase I ESA, Stage 2 PSI / Phase II ESA, and Detailed Site Investigations
    • Remediation Planning and Management
    • Environmental regulatory permitting and approvals
    • Environmental liability estimating
    • Preparation and/or review of technical reports, proposals and cost-estimates
  • Be experienced in conducted environmental site investigation and remediation field programs, in a variety of settings (urban, rural and remote), including in inclement weather.
  • Hold a degree or diploma in science, engineering, or a related field. Registration in BC as a P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., R.P.Bio, EIT/GIT/BIT, or similar, is not required but would be beneficial.
  • Have a reliable vehicle for travelling to/from jobsites, and possess a BC driver’s license.
  • Possess a demonstrated ability, aptitude and interest in:
    • Managing consulting projects successfully and effectively (on-time and on-budget).
    • Developing or strengthening project management and leadership skills.
    • Mentoring staff and contributing positively to the company culture.
    • Communicating clearly
