Jeff Taylor, P.Eng., CSAP

Principal, Senior Engineer

Jeff is a registered Professional Engineer with a degree in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia. With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in contaminated site assessment and remediation, delivering expertise in environmental site assessments, remedial strategy planning, and implementation. Before joining Active Earth in 2008, Jeff built a robust foundation in environmental management through roles with Environment Canada—working in pollution prevention, contaminated sites, and environmental emergencies programs—and earlier positions with various BC-based consulting firms.

As a Principal at Active Earth since 2008, Jeff excels in project and program management while providing senior technical oversight. He has led numerous large-scale remediation projects across the oil and gas, mining, heavy industrial, and commercial-retail sectors.

As member of the BC Contaminated Sites Approved Professional Society since 2011, Jeff facilitates the acquisition of legal instruments under the BC Environmental Management Act, streamlining processes for clients including developers, land owners, municipalities, and provincial government departments. Over the past decade, he has secured more than 100 approvals, including Certificates of Compliance, Determinations, and Approvals in Principle.

An avid outdoorsman, Jeff brings the same enthusiasm to his personal pursuits, enjoying fishing, skiing, and scuba diving. In his spare time, he also restores vintage trucks and motorcycles, blending technical skill with a passion for craftsmanship.
