
Chuck Jochems
P.ENG., CSAP
Senior Environmental Engineer
Chuck is a registered Professional Engineer and graduate of the University of Waterloo, with a degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in water resources. He has nearly 30 years of experience investigating and managing contaminated sites in the United States and Western Canada. He has held positions as project engineer, senior consultant, and practice leader with other well-regarded BC-based consulting firms.
Chuck has completed several multidisciplinary remediation projects, including sediment remediation, soil, and groundwater management at the Centerm Expansion Project in Vancouver harbour. He has worked with regulators in BC and the Yukon on complex contaminated sites, including abandoned mines, fuel spills, closed landfills, hydrocarbon forensics and solvent sites. As a Contaminated Sites Approved Professional, Chuck can facilitate obtaining Ministry of Environment legal instruments. His clients have included Developers, Airport Authorities, Port tenants, Municipal, Provincial, Territorial and Federal Governments.
Chuck is a father of two children. In his free time, he enjoys walking his dog, running, hiking, skiing and landscape photography. He is also happy to take on an occasional wood working project and enjoys international travel with his family. Chuck joined Active Earth in May 2021 as a senior engineer.
