David Kettlewell, M.SC. P.GEO., CSAP

Partner, Senior Geoscientist

David is a senior professional with over 30 years of geological and environmental of experience in BC and across Canada. David has a Master’s Degree in Geochemistry from the University of Western Ontario, and has been practicing as an Approved Professional with the Society of Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals of BC since 2010 – helping obtain instruments (certificates of compliance, approvals in principle, determinations) for a diverse range of private and government clients. David is a hands on senior project manager experienced in technical and quality oversight for large scale investigation and remediation projects – the types of projects he has managed include a former liquid waste dump, landfills, a former coal gasification plant, refineries, dry cleaning operations, metal fabrication operations, manufacturing operations, institutions, commercial developments, and abandoned brownfield development. David enjoys assisting clients find effective and workable solutions to their environmental problems. For 15 years he was the principle consulting project manager for BC Hydro on the Rock Bay Remediation Project, one of the largest contaminated sites in BC.

David’s working experience has included crown corporations, small and large companies – most recently as portfolio director of a large multinational consulting firm. David is very active with the BC Environment Industry Association, and has been the President of the association since 2022. He joined Active Earth in 2023 with the goal of using his experience to see the company grow and flourish – and is enjoying every minute of it.

David is married and the father of three grown boys, and when not working he enjoys travel, playing guitar, rowing, and hanging out with his family (and dog Max).
