We’re thrilled to introduce Active Earth’s strategic Advisory Council comprised of three business experts, Don McCreesh, Matt Phillips, and Lyndon Hanson.
Our Advisory Council brings together a wealth of experience and expertise from diverse backgrounds, each member contributing unique insights and perspectives to our firm’s mission. Allow us to introduce the esteemed members of our council:
Don McCreesh is an experienced and accredited board director (Charter Director – C.Dir.) and consultant. This follows a 35-year professional career culminating in roles as a corporate officer and global head of the Human Resources functions at Nortel Networks, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Celestica. Don has served on boards of StarTech.com and the IRC of Canadian Scholarship Trust Plans. He has also served as director and Chair of Educators Financial Group, a director of Oakville Hydro, Chair of Brainhunter, and Lead Director of Rand Technology. And last but not least, Don has also served on the faculty of The Directors College for over 8 years.
Matt Phillips is the founder of Phillips Brewing and Malting Co. which started from humble beginnings in 2001 and was built into a craft beer powerhouse selling beer across North America. In 2023, Matt divested his ownership in a hybrid sale to his employees and a hands-off private equity firm. Matt now chairs the board at Phillips. Matt is also a board member for a handful of other organizations.
Lyndon Hanson is a Professional Geoscientist with a background in hydrogeology and has worked in the environmental industry across Canada since 1983. Perhaps most notably, Lyndon is known for helping build Morrow Environmental Consultants Inc. from 1988 (with 6 employees) to 2005 (220 employees), with an eventual sale to SNC Lavalin. At SNC Lavalin, Lyndon was the VP of Environment for Canada, leading a group of over 800 environmental professional and technical staff and a further 300 staff in the geotechnical service group. In this role, Lyndon had key responsibility for achieving budget and margin targets for the group, strategic planning and support in key account management. As VP, Lyndon also supported growth of the business through the integration of approximately five hundred staff environmental and geotechnical staff through acquisitions.
Together, our Advisory Council members bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for the environment, corporate governance, and sustainable corporate growth. Their guidance will shape our firm’s strategies, ensuring that we continue to deliver cutting-edge solutions that benefit our clients, our staff, and our communities. As we embark on this journey, we are honoured to have such esteemed leaders by our side.
Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting chapter of our journey!
